Cassidy's First Band Performance!

Cassidy had her first band performance right before Halloween. It was more of a casual concert in the band hall and I think that was perfect for her first time! (She's in the middle looking at the cam---it was hard to get a good pic!)

Here they are actually playing...clarinet section.

Cass, Gav and Me after the concert...love these kids with all my heart!!:)

Nona and PawPaw came to support!! (Trav was out of town and he was very disappointed!)

We always get a treat after any concert or awards, so it was a cold night and we decided to get hot chocolate!

Cass goofin'

Gav goofin'

Cass spillin'! (I think it's time to go to bed!! lol)

It was a great fall evening!!!

Happy Fall!!!

Where's Waldo and Pocahontas

Did you see Waldo?

The kids are growing up, but they still love to dress up and have fun!! I love it!
Our Halloween was a little different this year because our church fall festival fell on the same night and it was a school night. Here are some pics of helping at the festival:

Gavin with his girlfriend Emily. She's really sweet.

Cassidy with Ky and Marls! They looked so cute!!

Gavin with Ky and Marls (he was always trying to hide, lol!)

Some of the teens at the church.

Gavin with Emily and Casey after Cassidy painted up Gav's face (I think little sister went a little overboard!)

This was last Halloween 2010...I never got this posted, but I thought it was a great pic of the Jones Girls and The Niebuhr Kids!

Office Blues!

Before I dive into the office "blues"...here is my attempt to get a picture in the awful dust storm that Lubbock encountered!! It's crazy that it picked up on all the dust particles with the orangey-brown sky in the back...it was awful!!

Here is my glamorous office, jk! I like my decorations, I just need color...

I do have light that comes through a window and I was thinking of painting it this....

This is Valspar's tropical nut. I used it in our laundry room in the old house and just fell in love with the color. I was looking online at Valspar seeing if I could get a sample of the color to post on the blog and I found something better!! You can upload a picture of your room and then "paint" with any color they have! It's pretty cool...you can see how your room would look with a particular color! It's genius! Now...it's finding the time to paint it!!!

Happy Thursday!

I Got A Word...

Last weekend was a truly blessed weekend! I went to Beth Moore with these three lovely ladies!!! Left to Right, Debbie, Jodi, Bestie Mar & me.

I can't believe how blessed we were that Beth Moore came to Lubbock out of all the places she could have simulcasted!! There were 180,000 ladies and a few gents;) joined together to worship and hear a good 'word'!

My friend Yoli had posted on my FB, "Have a blast hearing a good 'word'! Well...I did get a word from the Lord that day!

God pressed upon my heart that I need to saturate my home with scripture. I have a two scriptures posted in my home...one in Cass' room (that she chose) and another one in our guest bath. But, I feel like that is not enough, I want my children to know scripture from their inmost being...I want it to become natural that a verse pops in their head when they need it most! I can just hear Beth Moore...'Girl, did you ever get a word!'

{Cassidy's Room}
Beth Moore lasted all day Saturday. When I got home I was emotionally and physically tired. We walked several miles that day back and forth to parking and up and down the stairs at the United Spirit Arena. After a little rest on the couch, I spent most of the night Saturday looking up verses.

Several months back, I had put a quote from a song "Your'e beautiful. You are treasured. You are sacred. You are His" on Cass' mirror. I wanted her to see that everyday as she was getting ready. I wanted something like that on Gavin's mirror, but more boyish...you know.

Saturday night, I showed Gavin several verses. I mean why had I waited so long? He picked one...

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31. {and yes, I did have to clean his bathroom before I could take a picture!!lol}
I am so excited for him to see that everyday and draw strength from God's word!

I wanted the verse Joshua 1:9 for the door to the garage. We head out everyday through that door and I thought it was a great encouraging verse. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

Our front door mirror got an uplift...I actually had seen this in a magazine and copied it...I just love how it turned out!

It says "May God bless all who enter here. May you go out with Joy and be led forth with Peace. Isaiah 55:12.
I have many more ideas and I can't wait to implement them all!!

Blessings Friends!!

Suprise Little Diddy!

So, everyone knows we just got a piano, not even a week ago. A few days ago, I hear a cute little diddy being played on the piano. I go check out who's playing and it's Gav. I was shocked...I asked where did he hear that? He said I thought it sounded good together. No lessons mind you, pretty much first time to be around a piano and he puts together a little diddy! I asked him if he would like to also take piano lessons, he said "naw, I'll learn from Cassidy's stuff, it'll be like two for the price of one." I love this guy so much! I recorded him {and he really didn't want me too!} Bear with the first 20 seconds of the video...he didn't want to be recorded-typical teen! The last part is fun!

If the Niebuhr's had a theme song...I think this might be it!;)
