Some of you may have already seen on facebook that God blessed us with a piano...but I don't know if you know the story behind the blessing! I would like to share that with you today!
Cass has been wanting to take piano lessons ever since she got a keyboard for last Christmas. {On a whim Trav and I thought that might be a great Christmas gift for her and it was;)} I started getting serious about looking for a piano teacher when school was about to start. Trav had looked online, but I hadn't got in touch with anyone yet. No one really stuck out. Meanwhile, my sister had recently moved to another house and I saw the corner house on her block had a sign "piano lessons" and a number to call. I just had a good feeling about this. These lessons would be in walking distance to my sister's in case anything happened and not too far from our house...this would be perfect!
I called and talked to the piano teacher Lana! She was so nice and I got a good feeling about her. She loves kids, teaching and piano! She said that a keyboard would be fine and I thought to myself, we may need to invest in a piano sometime down the road if Cass really loves it.
Well...I get a voicemail at the Tech game...I saw there was a missed call from her piano teacher. I've only talked to her probably 3 short times on the phone..I was really debating whether to listen to the message or call later; I had no idea what it could be about. I decided to listen to the message {good idea!} She said how would we like a FREE piano? And to call her back very soon. Omy heavens!!!
I found a nook at the game under the seating where I could call her back and somewhat hear her. I couldn't wait to hear about this free piano. Lana said she got a call from an older gentleman who saw her piano lessons sign {that beautiful sign!} And wanted to know if she could use a piano or knew of anyone that did. She said she actually knew of a new student {Cassidy} and possibly one other that could use it. But she was skeptical...free, it couldn't be good! My thoughts too! Before she called anyone, she went over to Mr. Barker's house {the older gentleman} to check it out. She was pleasantly surprised when she found that it was in good shape. She asked him are you sure you don't want to sell it. He told her that he has tried and he is ready to give it away! She told me it's a God-thing!
Before I could even saw the piano, I was so grateful...Grateful that we had found an awesome godly piano teacher, grateful for a blessing of a piano, grateful I listened to the message, grateful Lana thought of us, and grateful for my brother to help us get it.
Cassidy was soo excited...we went Sunday after church, borrowed a trailer from the shop and went over the the sweet old man's house to pick up our piano!
